After School Clay Club (5+)
Class Experience
In this program, artists will explore the expansive world of pottery. In the first few weeks, artists will learn the basic techniques of handbuilding in a process and play focused “make and break” format. In the absence of the pressure of producing a finished piece, artists can explore and and get a true feel for clay. By the fourth or fifth week of play based learning of the techniques, artists will start working on building unique pieces using different techniques which will be taught step by step. During the last couple weeks of class, artists will learn to paint and glaze their pieces before they undergo a final kiln firing
All pieces will need to undergo a full drying stage before being bisque fired and then glaze fired and ready for pickup within 2-3 weeks of their completion.
